In May 2026, Galvanize Action surveyed ideologically-moderate women to see how they were feeling about current events.


QUESTION #1
Thinking about the time since President Trump began his second term, as a whole, would you say you approve or disapprove of President Trump?

The majority (62%) of respondents either somewhat or strongly disapprove of President Trump; nearly half (45%) say they strongly disapprove. These findings are consistent with the previous time Galvanize Action asked this question to a different sample of ideologically-moderate white women in April.

Do you approve or disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job?

Over three quarters (76%) of ideologically-moderate white women surveyed report that they disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job, with one third (33%) of the sample saying they strongly disapprove. Only 3% of respondents say they strongly approve of the way Congress is handling its job, indicating an extremely high level of dissatisfaction with Congress.

When asked about the Democratic Party, the majority (57%) of women surveyed say their opinion is either mostly unfavorable (34%) or very unfavorable (23%). Similarly, when asked about the Republican party, the majority (57%) say their opinion is either mostly unfavorable (26%) or very unfavorable (31%).

QUESTION #4
How much do you, personally, support or oppose the following: Allowing women to obtain the pills needed for a medication abortion from a healthcare provider, either in-person, or via telemedicine/by mail.

The majority (56%) of women surveyed indicate that they support access to medication abortion, with 36% saying they strongly support it and 20% saying they somewhat support it.

These results deviate from the last time we asked this question to a different sample of ideologically-moderate white women in August of 2025, where nearly half of respondents (46%) said they strongly support it, and a further 16% said they somewhat support it.

QUESTION #5
In recent months, there have been multiple incidents of political violence in the United States, including assassination attempts and attacks on political figures from both parties. In your opinion, what is the single greatest driver of political violence in the United States today?

The most commonly-selected responses are “extreme rhetoric from political leaders” (29%) and “deep division between political parties” (25%). Fewer respondents said the main driver of political violence is social media (20%) or violent individuals (19%).

When presented with a list of actions for which the Trump administration has been accused, the most concerning ones to our audience are foreign deals that benefit the Trump family financially (28%) and giving tech leaders influence over the federal government (20%). Eighteen percent of respondents said that none of the actions listed were concerning to them. Only 8% of respondents said that soliciting donations from corporations to fund White House renovations concerns them the most. Related: the majority of Galvanize Action’s audience opposes the demolition of the East Wing as of November 2025).

In April’s survey, the majority (79%) of respondents said they are either somewhat or very concerned that members of the current presidential administration are using their positions for personal financial gain.
