Amy (she/her) grew up in Philadelphia (go Birds!), but fell in love with the Pacific Northwest while doing her PhD in Feminist Studies from the University of Washington. She currently lives outside of Seattle with her husband, daughter, and very large cat, Billi Buttons. Previously, she was an Associate Professor of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, worked in museum exhibit curation, and wrote for several news outlets and academic publications. She brings her experience and passion for deep listening, critical thinking, and compassionate communication to her role at GALU as Director of Strategic Operations.
