2025 “Kitchen Sink” Survey

In August 2025, Galvanize Action conducted a survey on a variety of salient topics in order to understand ideologically-moderate women’s perspectives on a variety of relevant and timely issues. Some of these questions have been fielded previously (to a different, but demographically similar set of respondents), and comparisons are shown where applicable. 

QUESTION #1 | EXPOSURE TO DIVERSITY

  • A majority of respondents (65%) report not knowing any transgender people. 
  • A plurality of respondents also report not knowing someone whose first language is not English (43%), who immigrated to the US (42%), and who has had an abortion (40%).

  • The economy was the most-commonly-chosen issue in both March (30%) and August (29%) of 2025. 
  • Between March and August of 2025, the most significant increase in an issue being chosen was crime (7% and 11% respectively).

  • Support for medication abortion is highest among Egalitarians (93%) and lowest among Traditionalists (36%).
  • At least one quarter of both Traditionalists (27%) and Pragmatists (25%) reported neither supporting nor opposing medication abortion.

  • While 72% of respondents reported knowing how a medication abortion works, only 15% of those respondents provided a fully correct explanation. 
  • Of incorrect explanations, nearly all conflated medication abortions with emergency contraception such as Plan B.

Whether or not you think they will actually happen, which of the following actions would you consider a “red line” if the federal government did them?   • Between March and August of 2025, the percentage of respondents willing to speak out or protest against the above actions dropped slightly, but mostly within the margin of error. As a reminder, this compares two different samples of women. 
  • The largest change related to laws that would take custody rights away from LGBTQ+ parents. While 51% reported this as a “red line” topic in March of 2025, only 46% did in August.

  • A majority (51%) of Pragmatists said they support Trump’s policies but would not take action to support them, as did a plurality (35%) of Traditionalists and 28% of Centrists. 
  • A plurality (34%) of Centrists said they oppose the same policies but would not take action to oppose them.
  • Many (35% each) Egalitarians say they have either taken action to oppose Trump policies or that they have not, but would like to.

  • A majority of respondents find each of these somewhat or very convincing, with the most (60%) convincing being removing individuals from the US without due process, and the least (54%) being refusing to allocate money to important programs per Congress.
